Invoking the feelings inspired by Chinese calligraphy, this video called “Dunhuang”, after the city which was once a major stop on the ancient Silk Road with a rich Buddhist heritage, uses the movement of oil and water to create an almost living piece of art.

We’ll admit, we were impressed with some of the sand art pieces we’ve seen lately, but after checking out this new take on the art form -- water art -- sand art almost looks like kids play (almost).

Images change with a wave of the hand from deserts (the irony of using water to depict a desert is not lost when watching the video) to the Buddhist landmark in Dunhuang, the White Horse Pagoda, and then to Buddha himself.
